Teardown: A New Era Begins
Over the past few months, not much may have been visible to the outside world, but behind the scenes, a lot has been happening at Black Chameleon. We’re deep into the recording of our new album, which has finally found its title: Teardown. The album will feature 9 tracks, most of which we’ve already played live, alongside a few fresh ones that still need a bit of fine-tuning here and there.
The decision to go with the title Teardown came surprisingly quickly. It was originally the working title for the song Still a Freak, and it turned out to capture the societal themes that we’re exploring throughout the album perfectly. Once we all agreed on the title, there were no objections.

This recording process is going to be a little different from our last album, Colour Change. This time, we’re not recording in a studio; it’s more of a home recording project. We began with the rhythm guitars and drums, followed by bass and synths. However, when it comes to vocals, we’re not skimping on professional help. Thanks to the fantastic setup and equipment at the Lakewood Studio in Graz, we’ll be recording the vocals with the help of Andreas Bauer. After that, we’ll add the remaining guitars, background vocals, and effects.
One of the great things about having Elia as our mixing engineer is that we have complete freedom to tweak and re-record anything we want without any time pressure. There’s no rush, so we can take our time to make sure everything sounds just right. We’re also planning to release a few singles ahead of the full album, with the first one aimed for release around February.
As for live shows, preparations are already underway for our concert on February 6th, 2026, at Explo. It’s going to be an incredible night with a lineup of fantastic bands, and we’ll be there, ready to rock! Of course, we’ll be playing some of the new tracks from Teardown, so if you want to hear them before the album drops, this is the place to be.
Stay tuned for more updates, and we can’t wait to see you there!
We are many voices, many colors, but one family. Thank you, Black Chameleon Family, for carrying us forward.
Until the next transformation – your Black Chameleon.
