Back at Club Wakuum
Almost exactly one year after the rebirth of Black Chameleon, we returned to the legendary Club Wakuum on January 6th, 2024. By this time, the first songs of our Colour Change album were already out, and creating and playing new music together still felt just as exciting as ever. With Lukas preparing to spend the spring studying abroad in Sweden, this show felt like a must – one last concert before the temporary break.
We’ve already talked plenty about what makes Wakuum such a special venue for young bands in Graz, so no surprises there. This time, however, all the bands showed up – though in fact, there was just one opener. Our friends Stone Sober from Hungary, a raw and powerful duo (guitarist and drummer), absolutely tore it up and set the stage perfectly for the night.
For us, it was refreshing to have the freedom of a full set again after the fast-paced Local Heroes contest at PPC, where every second counted. With Survival Denied and Galactic Purge now firmly in the setlist alongside our classics, we had plenty of material to fill a full hour. And that’s the beauty of it – with a longer slot, we can shuffle songs around and keep the set fresh.
The night went off without a hitch. Smooth sound, great vibes, and above all, a room full of listeners and fans who made it special. For us, it was pure fun from start to finish – the kind of night that reminds us exactly why we do this.
