Wakuum Concert

Rocking the Legendary Club Wakuum – June 2023

Things didn’t slow down after Explosiv. Just a few days later, we had the chance to perform at one of Graz’s most iconic venues: the Club Wakuum. Known for its long-standing support of emerging bands through the Wakmusic association, Wakuum is one of those places where “small” bands get to feel big, with the chance to present their music on a stage that has seen countless acts before them.

With so little time between shows, there wasn’t much space to rehearse. Our setlist was almost identical to the one at Explosiv, just slightly extended to fit the one-hour slot instead of 45 minutes. Once again, our friends from Mantra were the opening band. A third band had originally been scheduled, but after failing to show up even after soundcheck, it quickly became clear that the night would be just the two of us.

Mantra once again got the energy flowing, and then it was our turn. For the next hour, we threw ourselves into the performance and rocked the Wakuum like there was no tomorrow. The energy, the atmosphere, and the fun of playing back-to-back gigs all came together in one unforgettable night.

But after such an unusually busy stretch of shows, it was time to take a little break. Not from the band, of course — but from the stage. The focus shifted to what comes next: refining the new songs. With the upcoming album’s tracklist already taking shape, we began the meticulous process of polishing the music that will define the next chapter of Black Chameleon.

We are many voices, many colors, but one family. Thank you, Black Chameleon Family, for carrying us forward.
Until the next transformation – your Black Chameleon.
